ADAM LEVINE NAMED ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR - MITES

Frederick Freeze is proud to announce Adam Levine as Associate Director - Mites for the 2023-2024 season. Adam will be responsible for all practice planning, skills development, and program growth in the Mite age group. In this role, Adam will work closely the Freeze Hockey Operations Department alongside newly hired Hockey Director, Patrick St Clair and Associate Hockey Director, Mike O’Neil.

"Adam’s wealth of experience with power skating and skills development will build a strong foundation for each player’s game, and their entire hockey career,” said Greg Dale, President of Frederick Freeze. "His knowledge of the game and commitment to the Freeze will allow our organization to have success for many years to come across all age levels.”

Levine joined the Freeze as an assistant coach for the Mite Futures team during the 2022-2023 season and quickly began implementing player-specific practice drills and overseeing power skating for all Mite teams. Adam will also serve as Head Coach for the Freeze Mite B team for the 2023-2024 season.

"I’m excited to continue working with our Mite program and its players and coaches. We have a great opportunity to develop our players from the grassroots level to build our program’s success," said Adam Levine, newly appointed Associate Director - Mites. "We want to give each player in our Mite program the tools he or she needs to become an excellent hockey player. That includes focusing on power skating, being strong on our skates, shooting and passing skills, and building in an element of fun into every practice, game, and experience with Freeze."

Adam grew up in Maryland playing for the Tri-City Eagles where he competed for three USA Hockey National Championships. He also played at Mount St. Joseph High School, winning four MIAA Championships and one Maryland State Title. Levine’s career then took him to the Berkshire School (Sheffield, Massachusetts) for one season of prep school hockey. Adam finished his competitive playing career at Penn State University (ACHA), playing for the Nittany Lions, where his team qualified for four consecutive ACHA National Championship tournaments.

Adam's true passion is teaching fundamentals to youth hockey players with a focus on power skating, but he has also coached at various ages ranging from U8 to U18 to high school programs. He also ran his own hockey school, Pivotal Hockey.

"Adam Levine brings an unmatched passion for the development of our Mite age group. He will allow our players to gain the tools and skills necessary to excel and be a terrific addition to our Hockey Operations Department," said Patrick St Clair, Frederick Freeze’s Hockey Director. "Adam will focus on specific skill attributes needed for each player to improve every season, and to move on to the Squirt level."

Adam lives in New Market, Maryland, with his wife, Cristy, and their three boys, Avery, Carter, and Maddox. He received his B.S. in Marketing from Penn State in 2007. For the 2023-2024 season, Avery will compete on the Freeze Mite Lower A team. When not at the rink, Adam can be found on the golf course or at Lake Linganore with his family.
