Our mission is to foster the growth and development of young athletes through the power of ice hockey, instilling values of teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
We strive to provide a safe and inclusive environment that promotes skill development, personal growth, and a lifelong love for the game and friendships. By emphasizing both individual and collective achievements, we aim to empower our players to become resilient, confident, and respectful members of the community.
Patrick St Clair
Hockey Director, Patrick St Clair oversees all aspects of hockey development and operations, including player and skill development, team and coach management, and membership growth.
As Hockey Director, St Clair leverages his expertise to enhance the development of players and teams within the organization. His responsibilities include implementing strategic training programs, fostering a positive team environment, and nurturing the overall growth of the Frederick Freeze.
Patrick St Clair has a deep connection with the Frederick Youth Hockey Association and the local hockey community. He began his hockey journey playing for the Frederick Phantoms and Frederick Fury, both past monikers of the Frederick Youth Hockey Association. He later joined the Washington Little Capitals Tier-I "AAA" hockey program before playing high school hockey with the Linganore Lancers, followed by junior hockey with the Frederick Freeze. During his time with the Freeze, St Clair served as team captain, achieved multiple league all-star selections, and emerged as a top scorer.
St Clair's commitment to hockey continued at Towson University, where he captained the Towson Tigers (ACHA D-1 club) and secured the 2013 ECHA League Championship. In 2013, he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sports Management from Towson University's College of Business and Economics.
Associate Hockey Director
Associate Hockey Director Mike O’Neil continues his work as a vital member of the Freeze hockey operations department. With an impressive background in the sport and a wealth of experience and dedication to the organization, O’Neil has been an integral part of the Freeze, fostering strong relationships with players and families while supporting player and coach development. Working alongside Hockey Director Patrick St Clair, O’Neil will ensure the maintenance of our high standards of sportsmanship, a positive hockey experience, and spearheading player development efforts.
O’Neil's contributions to the Frederick Freeze have been instrumental in enhancing the organization's offerings. O’Neil played a pivotal role in the establishment of the Frederick Freeze 12U Girls' Program in 2021, and its expansion to include a 14U Freeze Girls Team within a year of its implementation for the 2023-2024 season.
O’Neil's expertise stems from over 15 years of service as a USA Hockey Level 4 coach. Originally from the Upstate New York town of Madrid, his passion for hockey ignited at the tender age of four, nurtured by his parents and grandparents who supported him wholeheartedly by traveling across New York and Southern Canada for practices and games. O’Neil went on to achieve success as a high school player for the Norwood-Norfolk Flyers, culminating in a Section X Championship and NY State playoff appearance in 1998. O’Neil later played club hockey at SUNY Potsdam.
Throughout his coaching career, O’Neil has worked extensively with all levels of Tier II hockey, from U8 to U18 AA, for the Frederick Youth Hockey Association. From 2013 to 2016, he served as the Frederick Victory Assistant Hockey Director. In addition, O’Neil coached the West Virginia Vipers high school hockey team, which earned a trip to USA Hockey Nationals in 2019.
Associate Director - Mites
Associate Director - Mites, Adam Levine is responsible for all practice planning, skills development, and program growth in the Mite age group. In this role, Adam works closely with Freeze Hockey Operations Department alongside Hockey Director, Patrick St Clair and Associate Hockey Director, Mike O’Neil.

Adam grew up in Maryland playing for the Tri-City Eagles where he competed for three USA Hockey National Championships. He also played at Mount St. Joseph High School, winning four MIAA Championships and one Maryland State Title. Levine’s career then took him to the Berkshire School (Sheffield, Massachusetts) for one season of prep school hockey. Adam finished his competitive playing career at Penn State University (ACHA), playing for the Nittany Lions, where his team qualified for four consecutive ACHA National Championship tournaments.
Adam's true passion is teaching fundamentals to youth hockey players with a focus on power skating, but he has also coached at various ages ranging from U8 to U18 to high school programs.
