Free In-Season Power Skating Clinics
The Frederick Freeze are proud to offer our membership for the 2026-2027 hockey season access to FREE power skating clinics taking place on Friday nights running August - October. These clinics will be organized and run by the Freeze Hockey Operations team with support from external power skating specialists.
Players are required to register for each individual session they can participate in to help ensure instructor coverage for the number of participants per session. Sessions will be capped at 30 players per age group (12U & Younger, 14U & Older).

FREE! HOLIDAY CLINIC SERIES
The Freeze is proud to offer a FREE two-session holiday clinic series taking place in two different categories; a Protect the Lines defenseman clinic as well as a Pass, Shoot, and Score offensive clinic.
Protect the Lines Defenseman Clinic - this clinic focuses on the overall development of our defensemen in gap control, angling, breakouts/regroups, pinching, shooting from the point, escape tactics, stick position, etc., led by Pat St. Clair with support from Ian Soifer (16U AA Head Coach, Alabama) and other Tier 1, Junior, and ACHA college alumni.

FREE MITE CLINIC
The Free Mite Clinic is a four session serries open to all 8U players that would like an introduction to or continuation of the Frederick Freeze brand of Mite hockey. This is a great way to learn more about travel hockey in a fun and structured station-based environment developed by Associate Hockey Director, Adam Levine, and his staff of coaches. This clinic series also proves to be a great way to meet and interact with current Freeze hockey operations team, players and coaches.
Players are encouraged to attend all four sessions, but individual clinic date registration is required to ensure total player headcount for on-ice instructor coordination.
YOU MUST HAVE COMPLETED ALL LEARN TO SKATE CLASSES AT A RINK TO PARTICIPATE.

10U and 12U Open House Prospect Skates
The Frederick Freeze is excited to offer Open House Prospect Skates for 10U and 12U players for the 2026-27 season (birth years 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017). These prospect skates are aimed toward the Frederick Victory in-house community as a way to run through a practice setting alongside current Freeze players, led by Freeze coaches, as well as a parent meeting with a Q&A forum to explore the differences between rec and travel hockey, and the Frederick Freeze specifically as an organization.
Other members outside of the Frederick Victory in-house program are also welcome to attend these Open House skates via invitation. If you're interested in participating, please reach out directly to Pat St. Clair, Frederick Freeze Hockey Director, at patrick@frederickfreeze.com.

Skippers Hockey Development Pre-Tryout Clinic
Skippers Hockey Development will be hosting a pre-tryout clinic series to get players ready and competing at their best for the upcoming tryout season. This is a high-intensity clinic series with a station-based focus on skating mechanics and skill improvement, led by Frederick Freeze Hockey Director, Pat St Clair, and his coaching staff of former Tier I, Juniors, and College level hockey players. Freeze Summer Goaltending Training with Wolfe Hockey
The Frederick Freeze is proud to offer a 2026 summer training series for all FYHA goaltenders!
The Freeze have partnered with Wolfe Hockey Development (WHD) and goaltending coach Jason Wolfe to offer a six-week private goaltending training at Skate Frederick.
WHO: This exclusive training opportunity is only available to Frederick Freeze goaltenders for the 2026-2027 season. All ages and levels are welcome each week: U8 through U18.
WHEN: The sessions will take place each Monday from 6:45p-7:45p, starting on Monday, June 29th and continuing every Monday through August 3rd.
WHERE: Skate Frederick, 1288 Riverbend Way, Frederick, MD
COST: The cost of the entire training is $75.00 per goaltender and includes all six (6) sessions. We expect that some goaltenders and families will only be able to attend a select number of sessions due to vacation, family commitments, etc.. Thus, attendance at all six (6) sessions is not required but certainly welcomed and encouraged. Typically, a six-week session of private goaltending training would be well-over $400. But, thanks to the fundraising efforts of the Freeze, the organization is proud to offer this elite training opportunity at a significant discount to its goaltenders and families.
WHY: Coach Jason Wolfe will lead one of the on-ice sessions at Skate Frederick, while WHD goaltending coaches Shawn Grant and JT Ketzenberger will lead the other sessions. This summer instruction opportunity will allow Freeze goaltenders to receive coaching on skating, positional play, stance, mechanics, movement, rebound control, puck-tracking and reading the play. Goaltenders who participate in this training opportunity will stay sharp in the summer months while also honing their skills prior to the start of the 2026-2027 season!

Coach Jason Wolfe
Jason Wolfe is the first Maryland born goaltender to play in the professional ranks. Jason graduated with honors from Merrimack College with degrees in Psychology and Business Administration. Upon finishing high school Jason played one year of Jr.A hockey in Canada, which was followed by four years of NCAA D1 hockey at Merrimack College in Massachusetts. During his collegiate career Jason began coaching some of the D.C. area’s goalies during his summer breaks from school. After graduation Jason immediately turned to the pro ranks by signing with the LA Kings affiliate the Reading Royals. The 2008-2009 season marked the end of Jason’s professional career. Jason spent 8 years of his career having played in the LA Kings, Chicago Blackhawks, Florida Panthers and Anaheim Ducks organizations, as well as playing one season for Manchester England in the English Elite League. Upon retirement Jason and his wife Heather founded Wolfe Hockey Development, which has risen quickly to one of the Mid-Atlantic regions top player development organizations. Wolfe Hockey owns two real ice hockey training centers and has advanced the careers of over 100 regional players on to the college and pro ranks.
Coach Shawn Grant
Shawn Grant has been with Wolfe Hockey for many seasons now. Grant worked as Volunteer Assistant Coach for Clarkson University men’s team for 5 seasons and 2 seasons with Clarkson’s women’s team. Grant’s additional collegiate coaching experience include 1 season as the Assistant Men’s Hockey Coach at Neumann College, 1 season as the Assistant Women’s Hockey Coach at SUNY Potsdam, and 2 seasons as the Assistant Men’s Hockey Coach at SUNY Potsdam. Grant is a certified Level 4 USA Hockey coach as well as a certified Level 1 USA Hockey referee.
Coach JT Ketzenberger
Ketzenberger comes to Wolfe Hockey from Frederick, Maryland. He played junior and high school hockey locally with the Frederick Freeze, Washington Jr. Nationals and at Urbana High School. Following that he played 3 years of juniors with the Hampton Road Whalers organization winning a championship, and 4 years at the University of Rhode Island. JT has experience mentoring and coaching goalies of all levels at URI and has been working with Wolfe Hockey as a student and coach since 2010.
Laura Stamm's International Power Skating System Clinic
The Laura Stamm International Power Skating System is designed to improve the speed and mobility of hockey players of all ages and abilities. The Frederick Freeze has partnered with the Laura Stamm team to host this four-day Summer Camp coming to Skate Frederick specifically for Freeze hockey players.
Since 1970 Laura Stamm and her team of Certified Instructors have trained hockey players throughout the world. Her power skating techniques are proven by the pros, and have improved the speed, efficiency, and overall skating technique of thousands of pro, amateur and recreational hockey players, including work with the Los Angeles Kings, New York Rangers, New York Islanders, New Jersey Devils, the German and Swedish National Teams, the Finnish Ice Hockey Federation, and many more.
