2020 Election Results Are In!

The Frederick Freeze Board of Directors are pleased to announce 2020 election results. This year, there were seven candidates for six openings. Article V, Section 5.02 of the FYHA Bylaws state that, “The full BOD of the FYHA shall consist of not less than one (1), but not more than thirteen (13) directors.” In keeping with this guidance, an election was held between February 4th and February 14th.

Meet Our Newest Board Member

Sharon Rapp

I have been part of the Frederick Freeze organization for 2 seasons, as a parent and currently as the Team Manager for the Mite A team. It takes a lot of effort from everyone for the season to run smoothly and I am 100% focused on the success of the Freeze program and excited to be a part of the growth of each Freeze team member. Professionally, I am the Vice President of Product Operations and Contract Delivery / Product and Technology advocate at Fiserv for the Wells Fargo Bank merchant business. This role requires me to plan, schedule, strategize, delegate and adapt. I process information quickly, focus on fine details and efficiently manage my time to meet all goals and deadlines. I am a member of the Wells Fargo Merchant Services Operating Committee, a member of the Women’s Network in Electronic Transactions and a member of the Hagerstown Women’s Network. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Virginia Tech, where I double majored in Finance and Management. Being part of the Board will allow me to ensure we are doing everything we can to offer a premier organization and hockey experience for kids in our area.

Returning For Another Term

Todd Blaszak

As an executive manager for over 10-years, I have the experience to support the continued growth of the Freeze Organization. As a current member of the Freeze BOD and the current disciplinary chair for FYHA where I have served for the past two years, plus my time coaching over a 5-year period, I provide various perspectives for both the organization, the players and the families. The FYHA deserves engagement, vision and dedication by the BOD to ensure our players and families are afforded the best opportunities to play and grow in the hockey community. It would be my honor to continue serving as a member of the BOD for the Freeze Organization.

Nick Dabruzzo

I have served on the Freeze BOD for the last two years. I am proud of the progress we have made as an organization. Personally, I have been an active participant on the board, having spear-headed the creation of multiple policies, and taken on the role of scheduler. I feel strongly that youth athletics is not a spectator sport. Since I can't contribute on the ice, my participation on the BOD is my way to give back to the organization. I look forward to the next two years, and taking the Freeze to even greater levels.

Steve Ferrone

I've been coaching hockey for over 9 years at the youth level and 2 years at the High School level. I served as President of the Freeze for the past two seasons, and I love helping the organization. I play recreational hockey in 2 adult leagues and I know many of the people in the local hockey community. During hockey season, I'm at the rink anywhere from 5 to 7 days per week. Building a fun, safe environment for kids to play hockey in Frederick at every level is one of my many passions.

Angie Hulton

I am a current board member and am passionate about the FYHA. I believe in continuing to develop our strengths and working on goal establishment for the organization to help define our future. One of my key strengths I can offer to the organization is my financial background & support. I am a certified public accountant and former audit manager with Deloitte - with over 25 years of experience in financial statement preparation, budgeting & forecasting, and presentations for boards of various sizes for public, private and non-profit organizations. I currently help to provide oversight and support to our treasury function. I believe we should continue to improve our processes, reports and controls - all while keeping in mind that we are here to serve the members and promote the future for the players. I believe in open and transparent communication, and I am excited about the future of the Frederick Youth Hockey Association.

Sean McGee

Hello, my name is Sean McGee and I have been a parent of Freeze players for the last 5 years. I believe my experience as a teacher (10 years), school administrator (15 years) and youth coach (youth and high school level) has prepared me for the challenges of taking our organization to the next level. I am from a small town in Upstate New York and have played hockey all my life. As a member of the board of directors, I will focus on the support of our players through player development while creating opportunities for our teams to succeed at all levels. Through this vision, I want to create an organization where players come to thrive. I believe I have a good skill set to work with both children and adults. I am able to listen, see other perspectives and make a decision in the best interest of children. I believe this is an important attribute that all adults should have affiliated with any organization that supports children.

The new 13 member board will begin their two-year term on April 1, 2020. Congratulations to our new Frederick Freeze Board of Directors!
