EJEPL Playoffs

The Freeze 10U AA team’s strong season ending surge ended on Friday with a 4-2 loss to the Palmyra Black Knights in the EJEPL Diamond Playoffs. The team had finished the season two weeks ago, but due to the ranking system used to qualify for EJEPL playoffs, it was not determined until earlier in the week that the team had secured a playoff spot.

It has been a very challenging season for the 10U team, as they have competed at the highest levels in the CBHL National and EJEPL Diamond divisions. It was a difficult decision at the start of the season as the players and especially the parents, needed to commit to a mindset that the players would be pushed, there would be extra days of dryland, chalk-talk and video Zoom meetings, expectations would be high, and there would be some very difficult growing pains – especially earlier in the season in attempts to compete with the strongest programs.

Playoff hopes looked extremely grim, but the players, parents and Freeze organization remained committed and supportive, and ultimately the kids were rewarded with an EJEPL Diamond playoff berth – This is something all the players, families and Freeze organization should be proud of.
